I'm a nature photographer who lives in Ely, Minnesota. My work includes landscapes, wildlife and macros. Although many of my images focus on my home state, I do have many photos from places such as Yellowstone, Grand Tetons and Grand Canyon National Parks, the Black Hills and Badlands of South Dakota, and the Bighorn Mountains of Wyoming. I have been actively selling my images since 1998. My work has been published in Sports Illustrated, Canoeroots, Canoe & Kayak, Paddler and The Boundary Waters Journal magazines. My photos appear on the covers of the latest edition of the popular "Beymer" guidebooks to the Boundary Waters. I have published 2 photography books: "The Boundary Waters Through the Seasons" and "On Trail With Nibi...

Thanks Lois. I've been told they are related to carnations but haven't bent down close enough to try smelling them. My wife says that some of them smell like carnations.

a wonderfully delicate vision, Larry!!!!! I love these guys but have never had luck keeping them alive .. am I right and these are the ones that smell like carnations??

Thanks Lana. This was photographed back in June before we started getting the long term heat. Even so, we've had enough rain mixed into our weather here to keep the plants going. Most of them actually seem to like the heat and humidity. If it was a dry heat, it'd be a different story. But, it's been wet. For instance, last Friday we got 4+ inches of rain here.

Beautiful Larry! You mean the heat isn't burning everything up there like it is here?
